[The prior week had been confusing to observe for the young Eliatrope, with all of the talk about love and romance amongst strangers who he had never seen interact beforehand. It didn't take long for Yugo to realize that it was a Shift, but his hands were tied. Being unaffected, and a child no less, watching was all he was able to do.

It brings up many questions for him, which he has been pondering and will continue to ponder. He's sitting on the rooftop of Seventh Heaven when he makes the transmission to the rest of the community as a whole, no filters or specific people in mind. Though the air is cold, the sun is bright--it's nice to be outside.]

Excuse me, I was wondering...last week we had a Shift, correct? How are the people who were affected by it doing now?

Also, is there anyone else around here who can see--who can see the 'energy' of people and surroundings? I didn't look, but is there anything noticeably different or strange that happens with that during Shifts?

[Feel free to catch him over the journals or outside--he's portal-jumping from rooftop to rooftop, occasionally stopping to stare up at something in the sky with a serious, thoughtful expression on his face.]

[Good morning, Luceti! As you wake up and walk about town today, you may notice random blue portals opening and closing just out of the corner of your eye. Investigate if you will, but it's nothing too traumatic or terrible. It's just a boy dressed in New Feather clothes, jumping around town in search of a couple of things. Namely, his supremely awesome hat and his pet bird, Az. He's not used to the wintry weather that's besieged the tiny town, but at least he's found some protection in a heavy comforter and...

...is that a pillow case on his head?

Regardless, if he's outdoors he will be trying to find a way inside, and will be happy for any assistance in locating his clothes (or a warmer set--he's not used to the cold!) or a nice warm loaf of bread. He may have bumped into you, or accidentally teleported himself someplace that he shouldn't be, as his attention is obviously not on his location at this point in time.

He is friendly, and won't bite...but really doesn't want to be seen until he finds his hat.

Later that day, after he's found his clothes (and his hat!), he can be found in Seventh Heaven, perhaps eating a bowl of hot stew and asking about places that curious little birds will go, or about anyone who needs help. Eventually, he'll send a voice message through the Journal's system.]

Voice:

Excuse me. My name is Yugo, and I'm looking for a friend of mine. His name is Az, and he's a tofu...wait, a bird. He's small, yellow, and very lost right now. If you find him, please take care of him...and let me know that he's okay. I'll be here in...what is this place called again? Seventh Heaven? I'm in a restaurant, and I'll stay here so you can find me.

Thank you.

[True to his word, he will stay in Seventh Heaven until someone comes along with information about Az or a place to stay, looking strangely calm for a New Feather on his first day in.]

((OOC-- Okay, here's the deal: The first person to comment gets to help him find his hat, for clarity's sake. All other threads after that will deal with getting settled and/or finding his pet bird. :3c ))

Backtagging
--Sure. I know things get busy, and I don't like dropping things. Besides, taking my time is a good thing.

Fourthwalling-- Go on ahead, just keep in mind that he probably won't act any differently because of this information. He's a good kid who can take wierdness in stride, and will probably accept it the same way he accepted the news of his being an Eliatrope.

Threadhopping or Threadjacking-- Go ahead

IC:

Hugging-- Go ahead. Keep in mind that he's a kid, and is likely to just see it as an affectionate gesture.

Kissing-- He's ten. Not only will he be confused by this, he will likely just kiss you on the cheek in return.

Flirting-- He's ten. If he understands it, he will be blushing and trying to figure out why you're doing such a thing.

Relationships-- Friendships? Yes. Completely. Yugo is the nicest, sweetest kid you'll ever meet. If you don't do anything to hurt him or his friends, he'll likely consider you 'one of the family' in no time. However, due to his age, I draw the line at romance. Maybe something innocent, but nothing further than a chaste kiss after a lot of CR.

Fighting-- Yes. He may be a kid, and he may be small, but he can hold his own. More details will come below as they apply to his powerset.
.
Slapstick-- Yes. If there is one thing Ankama is known for, aside from their perpetual lateness, its for their excessive use of very bad puns and silly gags. The subbers didn't coin the term 'Anakmanometric Translatology' for nothing!

Injury-- PM me first. I'm not against it, but I like to plan these things out.

Killing-- I would prefer not. However, for canonical reasons, its very hard to kill any Eliatrope permanently.

Mind Reading-- Go ahead;  not only will you find a kid who is willing to accept the poking around in his mind, but someone who is liable to respond to conversation. While not telepathic, Eliatropes to have a telepathic connection with their brothers that crosses great distances and, in rare instances, even dimensions. He won't be too phased by this.

Wierd notes:

-Yugo is the adopted son of a small village inkeeper, who raised the boy as lovingly as he would have raised a biological son. His Papa Alibert taught him everything that he knows--which means that Yugo is both a skilled cook and a skilled fighter.

-He is one of the last of the Eliatropes, a race of people with strange teleporting abilities and intimate connections with the Dragons of their world.

-He always has with him a tofu--a species of small yellow, canary-like birds--named Az. The bird has literally been with him since he was a baby.

-His biological brother, Adamai, is a dragon. Don't ask.*

-He and Adamai were born from the same egg. Yes, egg, like the kind that birds lay in nests. Again, don't ask.*

* Indicates a racial trait for all Eliatropes.

Fandom: Wakfu
Gender: Male
Age: 10
Time Period: Season 2, episode 19
Wing Color:Bright Yellow, like the feathers of his pet bird Az.
History: http://wakfu.wikia.com/wiki/Yugo
--The wiki is incomplete, this being such a niche fandom. More information is provided below, with HEAVY SPOILERS.

Before the end of the first season, Yugo does find out the truth of his heritage. He is an Eliatrope, a class of people known for their intimate connections with dragons and their ability to teleport. As a people, they have been lost for centuries. Yugo, by happy occurrence, is one of the last remaining ones. Additionally, he discovers two relatives—dragons. Each Eliatrope is born from the same egg as their twin Dragon. Yugo’s twin is a young dragon called Adamai.

The other relative Grougaloragran (called Grougal’ by his closest friends and for the rest of this text), is the one who dropped him off with Alibert twelve years prior, as a literal child in a basket left on the doorstep. Had certain events not occurred, Yugo would have gladly remained in his quiet existence with his father.

Instead, their village was attacked by the machinations of a time-controlling madman of a magician. While, yes, Yugo’s quest was in part to find the truth of his family, the other part was to find the source of the attack. Joined by his father’s old friend, Ruel, a demon-possessed knight errant, Tristepin, a renegade princess, Amalia, and her archer bodyguard, Evangelyne, they travelled around the World of Twelve to solve the mystery.

The trail took them all across the land, through two different countries and smaller provinces, until they found the trail of the madman himself, a corrupted watchmaker called Nox. The man got his hands on a cursed artifact of great power, the Eliacube, became obsessed and night immortal. It took him decades to realize that his obsession destroyed his family, and centuries to gather the resources he would need to travel back in time to right his wrongs.

His ‘resources’ included the very life energy of Yugo’s eldest brother, Grougal’, and the life energy of Princess Amalia’s entire people. Nox’s plans caused Grougal to sacrifice himself and return to his Dofus-- the egg that each Eliatrope and their brother Dragon hatch from; kill Tristepin; and turn Amalia and her entire people into trees

The plan worked…though not nearly the two centuries that Nox intended. Instead, all he earned was a paltry twenty minutes, enough time to spare Amalia’s entire people from genocide, but Tristepin and Grougal’ were still ‘dead’.

…though ‘dead’ doesn’t mean much. The demon that possessed Tristepin ensured that the knight escaped his fate, and the quirks of the Eliatropes and Dragons ensured that Grougal’ was reborn alongside his brother Chibi—in infant form. They have to grow up the long way.

However, alongside the rebirth of Grougal and Chibi, another Eliatrope appeared. Qilby, a man with one arm and much knowledge of the Eliatropes as a people, revealed to Yugo the truth. Not only was Qilby the King of the Eliatropes, Yugo himself saved the man in his prior existence and their entire people were trapped in an alternative dimension, kept in suspended animation.

Thus began the second quest of the series—locate the Dofus’ of another Eliatrope and Dragon pair, a pair that might know how to utilize the Eliacube, revealed to be an Eliatrope created artifact, to unlock this dimension and release their people.

Personality: It is rare to meet a boy as kind, open minded, and mature as Yugo. Although he is only a tender ten years old, a conversation with him quickly reveals a child who is kind, optimistic, and wise beyond his years. Although he will be the first to admit that there are many things that he still doesn’t know, he is eager to learn and quick to take on new information. His quick wits, cleverness, and understanding belay an old soul within a young body.

He is quick to befriend people, and quick to accept oddities in his life. The discovery of his true nature as an Eliatrope didn’t make him bat an eye; the revelation that his brother by birth is a Dragon made him smile about how cool it is. He is also very firm in his beliefs, and even honorable. It has been commented by friends and enemies alike that his heart is almost too pure, and he was willing to give a madman who killed three of his friends and committed genocide against an entire race of people a chance to redeem himself.

He is also willing to give people the benefit of doubt in meeting them himself. He trusts people entirely from the outset unless they are obviously unjust, but he will deliver vengeance a hundredfold if you do anything to hurt his friends. The mad wizard Nox learned this the hard way when he fought Yugo and saw his entire plan fall to shambles around him.

Otherwise he is a very confident boy who likes a good fight and a good laugh. He is able to think outside of the box, as evidenced in his plan to have himself and his friends dress up as cursed princesses to infiltrate a castle to rescue one of their own from the real cursed princesses. However, underneath the confidents lies an uncertainty about whether he is strong enough to help his friends, or whether he is doing the right thing. In spite of these insecurities, he is able to pull through by force of will and determination. He always has, and he always will.

Strengths:
Physical: Yugo’s number one strength, as an Eliatrope, lie in his hereditary abilities
His powers include:

Teleportation-- This is a class-trait of the Eliatropes. If you are familiar with the Portal games, then you have an idea of how this skill works. He creates a pair of interdimensional portals, one of which is the entry and one of which is the exit. No more than two can exist at any given time, and the portals cannot be placed over great distances or in places that Yugo cannot see.

The use of these portals in succession allow him to achieve something similar to fight, and has likewise given him a complete lack of fear of heights and falling. He's also used these portals against enemies and to rescue friends. It should be noted that anyone who is not accustomed to teleporting or dimensional portals will be reduced to a retching heap upon returning.

The only restriction Yugo has on these portals is his energy levels. Being so young, he's not able to jump through portals infinitely without exhausting himself, and dropping them in rapid succession is a quick ticket to passing out.

A quick demo of them is here, and here. (Apologies for the AMV. Good demos are hard to find.)

Energy Beams-- This is a natural extension of the portals, only discovered when his brother encouraged him to look for more creative uses of them. Two portals superseded on top of each other will react and create a forcible outburst of energy. He can use this technique like the infamous large scale beam attacks seen in many shonen anime, or as mini blaster gun style shots.

Wakfu Vision-- This technique is the hardest to explain. People familiar with Star Wars will understand when I compare Wakfu to the Force--it’s an energy that exists in all beings, living and non-living. After intense training, Yugo has developed the capacity to observe the Wakfu levels of the world around him, and he is even able to detect objects as small as falling coins. He is able to observe the world around him through this, though only with the most baseline visual details. Colors are lost on him with this technique, as is the sense of light and darkness. However, if you happen to have a particularly powerful or ominous aura, he will be able to see it as plainly as you can read this text.

Others-- Though this isn't explicitly a power per se, Eliatropes do have a deep, intimate connection with their dragon brothers and sisters. Yugo and Adamai, though separated at birth and not meeting each other at all for the first ten years of their lives, still retain an almost telepathic, spiritual connection. If one is in a deep state of anxiety or distress, the other will know this. If one is drawn into a different dimension, it's physically painful for the other. This connection comes from the bond that they've shared throughout their various incarnations, continually being born alongside each other from the same egg and only journeying to the next one if both of their souls are within that egg.

Additionally, he is small but surprisingly strong for his size, able to kick around intelligent bulls and demon-possessed knights with minimal difficulty. He is also agile and fast, thanks to the training given to him by his Papa Alibert. His method of physical fighting looks notoriously like Kung Fu, and his teleporting abilities are used in tandem with this to manipulate the battlefield to his needs.

Mental: He is very open minded and mature, surprisingly so for one so young. It’s easy to forget his age with how stern he can be he can be at times. It is very hard to dissuade him when he makes a decision, and he makes his decisions carefully when they are important enough. Otherwise, he is known for his creative and out of the box thinking, especially notable during his first meeting with his brother, Adamai, when the young dragon was caught by no small amount of trickery and some carefully placed portals.

Emotional: Very open hearted and loyal, Yugo is quick to become friends with almost anyone and will remain by their side no matter what. Additionally, he is open minded enough to accept strangeness without second thought, and optimistic enough that he is able to carry on through anything, despite nagging uncertainties.

While not explicitly a pacifist, fighting is usually not his first option. He will try to solve problems reasonable first. However, if a fight has to happen, he will not shy away and even jump into the fray cheerfully. Since discovering his abilities, he’s also become very fond of using them for mundane purposes. Don’t be surprised if he taps you on the shoulder from the other side of the room using his portals.

Though it is easy to forget, it must be remembered that Yugo is still a kid. Events like the discovery of a fair he had only heard rumors about is enough to make him jump in delight, and he is continually declaring how actually flying is pretty cool, although he has no problems with using his portals to jump through the sky.

Weaknesses:
Physical: His greatest physical limitation is his size and his youth. Yugo is very short—only about waist level to an average adult man, and he has all of the attendant difficulties. Additionally, he has not nearly reached his maximum potential as a warrior and Eliatrope because he still has a lot of room to grow. Though he has immense abilities, he cannot use them infinitely, and his ability to control them is not nearly at the skill level of the only other Eliatrope seen in the series. Qilby, the Eliatrope in question, is able to open portals between different dimensions with the assistance of a dragon and the Eliacube—a cursed artifact of immense power-- and maintain it. Yugo can’t do that at all without significant repercussions
Otherwise, he’s still human despite his abilities. Blades, arrows, and guns can hurt him and probably kill him. He will heal over the natural course without outside assistance.
Mental: It has been stated from time to time that perhaps Yugo is too good. Though he is creative and clever, he has no real capacity to lie, leading to even his friends to keep him out of the circle when under the table dealings are happening. Additionally, his home in Emelka didn’t really have any schools, so his book smarts are only at the level that his Papa Alibert was able to teach him. Granted, Alibert is a loving father, and would give the world if it meant helping his son. If something is beyond the knowledge set of an average chef or innkeeper, it is likely that Yugo does not know it.

Emotional: Again, many of Yugo’s emotional weaknesses stem from the fact that he is too kind and too good. He is willing to trust people until they do something to harm his friends, and even then is willing to offer second chances to people that others would give life imprisonment to at best. Additionally, he literally feels like his strength is there to help everybody, regardless of what his immediate needs. What started out as perhaps a week long journey has spanned across months because Yugo has to solve every single problem that is brought to his attention. Yes, this helps in the short term, but is terrible in the long term.
He also is easy to succumb to peer pressure when his friends are involved. An incident in a dragon’s lair had him and his friends not listen to the one person who was familiar with dungeon crawls and trek on ahead…only to be temporarily cursed by the dragon. On a darker note, his brother Adamai convinced him against his better judgement to use the cursed Eliacube to hatch Grougaloragran from his Dofus. While the result was all right in the short term, it may not be okay in the long term.

As a note, Yugo also refuses to be seen by anyone without his hat firmly on his head. He admits to being embarrassed to being seen without it, which leads people to wonder if he’s hiding something under there. The hat, however, is another quirk of Eliatropes. They all have fancy, awesome hats which they are never seen without. This may just be a case of an unconscious collective memory, or he may be genuinely hiding something as bizarre as horns or cat ears underneath it.

Anyone and everyone looking to fight Yugo should keep in mind a few things, the most important of which is that he is a lot more powerful than he initially appears. This strength isn't physical, but more along the lines of mental capacity, will power, and speed. Being an Eliatrope, and one of the last of his race, there are a few things you need to know.

Teleportation-- This is a class-trait of the Eliatropes. If you are familiar with the Portal games, then you have an idea of how this skill works. He creates a pair of interdimensional portals, one of which is the entry and one of which is the exit.

Additionally, there is a 98% chance that other beings, if they are not already accustomed to teleporting, his brand of magic, or just average Joes will end up tossing their cookies if they go through his portals.

Energy Beams-- This is a natural extension of the portals, only discovered when his brother encouraged him to look for more creative uses of them. Two portals superceded on top of eachother will react and create a forcible outburst of energy. He can use this technique like the infamous large scale beam attacks seen in many shonen anime, or as mini blaster gun style shots.

Wakfu Vision-- This technique is the hardest to explain. People familiar with Star Wars will understand when I compare Wakfu to the Force--its an energy that exists in all beings, living and non-living. However, if you happen to have a particularly powerful or ominous aura, he will be able to see it as plainly as you can read this text.

Thus, I have a few questions:

Is my character allowed to teleport yours, be it in battle or as a move to get them out of danger? If so, is your character of the variety that might not get sick upon reentry?

Is there anything unusual about your character's power/chi/magical ability that my character would notice?
